Manchester United fans are demanding that Erik ten Hag start one player against Newcastle who was benched for the 3-3 draw with Galatasaray.

United's Champions League dreams are hanging by a thread after they threw away a 3-1 lead in Istanbul, with Andre Onana having an evening to forget.

Despite scoring three goals in all of their away matches in the group stage, United have only picked up one point on the road in the Champions League.

They sit bottom of group A with just four points in five matches, and have the fewest points out of any English side in European competition.

After their disastrous result in Turkey, United fans are all on the same page on who should be starting their next match against Newcastle on Saturday.

Kobbie Mainoo was left on the bench in place of Sofyan Amrabat but the 18-year-old was subbed on early in the second half and impressed fans with another composed performance.

Fans are desperate to see more of the English talent and have taken to social media to vent their frustrations.

"Mainoo has to start against Newcastle on Saturday. He should get a run of games," one fan wrote.

Another replied: "Wanna see the partnership of Mainoo x Amrabat."

While a third fan wrote: "He showed against Everton and Galatasaray that he can perform in tough away grounds."

Mainoo made his full Premier League debut against Everton last weekend and only missed out on the 'Player of the Match' award due to Alejandro Garnacho's bicycle-kick goal.

United travel to St James' Park on Saturday evening, and will need to shake off their Champions League heartache and return to their league form, where they've won five of their last six matches.

Newcastle will also be hoping to bounce back from their midweek blues as they conceded a controversial 98th-minute equaliser in Paris.

The two sides have already met once this season with Newcastle thrashing Man United 3-0 at Old Trafford in the League Cup.

However, Ten Hag will have Mainoo available for selection this time around, and United fans will be hoping he makes the difference.
