Six-time Olympic medallist Adam Peaty was reportedly escorted off a plane by uniformed police officers when he recently returned from his stag do in Budapest, Hungary.
Peaty, 30, is one of the most successful Team GB athletes of the past decade or so, having won three gold and three silver medals across three Olympic Games – in Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, and most recently Paris.
Away from swimming, the 30-year-old is also a popular public figure, partly due to his relationship with Holly Ramsay, the 25-year-old daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
The couple are often the topic of media interest, with the duo set to be married this winter.

But on Wednesday, Peaty was the subject of reports from The Sun, which claimed the 30-year-old was met by uniformed police officers at Manchester Airport on Sunday evening following fears he could be assaulted.
Officers reportedly watched CCTV to keep an eye out for suspicious activity as the plane, which had travelled from Budapest, landed at Manchester Airport.
The outlet claims that the swimmer had received a barrage of “increasingly threatening” texts while in the Hungarian capital, which led to fears he would be physically assaulted on his return to the UK.

Meanwhile, his soon-to-be wife, Holly, who had been on her hen do in Oxfordshire, reportedly alerted police.
This comes after Peaty has been involved in a fall-out with his family, which has supposedly been ongoing for around six months.
It was recently reported by the Mirror, that Peaty's mother Caroline was not invited to Holly's hen party after she had fallen out with Adam. Although there is nothing to suggest this is related to the incident in question.
The Standard suggests the alleged feud is related to the swimmer supposedly being drawn into Ramsay's celebrity lifestyle.
Speaking about the airport saga, a friend reportedly told The Sun: “The issues that have been reported don’t stem from hen do or wedding invitations; it goes so much deeper.
“He then received a threat that he’d be met off the plane.
“He told Holly, who called the cops after consulting with her family.

“Gordon and Tana have been 100 per cent supportive of them in this.
“They are both brilliant in a crisis.
“The police were sufficiently concerned that they went to the airport to accompany him through passport control, baggage area, arrivals hall, and into a waiting vehicle.”
The source added: “Police are confident no one turned up at the airport, but Holly did the right thing in making a complaint.”
SPORTbible has contacted Greater Manchester Police and Adam Peaty’s representatives for comment.
The force responded to SPORTbible and said: "Two unarmed, uniformed police officers from the neighbourhood team spoke to the passenger upon landing prior to border control..."
GMP also explained that "the party was not escorted through or placed into a police vehicle" and left via a pre-booked taxi.
