'I’m in the effin’ Hall of Fame!': Shannon Sharpe goes completely nuclear in all-time TV meltdown

Shannon well and truly lost it – and understandably so.

Shannon Sharpe was p**sed.

Really p***sed – and rightly so, to be fair.

The NFL great-turned-analyst completely and utterly lost it live on TV during heated exchange with his Fox Sports co-host Skip Bayless.

Skip and Shannon were discussing legendary 45-year-old quarterback Tom Brady and his longevity in the sport.

But things quickly turned ugly when Skip made a sly dig at Shannon, questioning the length of the high end's career in comparison to Brady's.

“This man is playing at a high level at 45 when you had to stop at 35,” Skip declared.

The red mist instantly descended as Shannon, visibly fuming, launched into a tirade.

“That’s what you do,” Sharpe hit back.

“Every time I call something into question, I get it… I did what I did! You make it seem like I was a bum! I’m in the effin’ Hall of Fame. I got three Super Bowls!”

When Skip responded by saying 'so what' and 'he [Brady] is way better than you were', it tipped Shannon over the edge.

"So what?! See this is what you do, you take personal shots," he yelled.

"Hold on hold on, time out! Can I finish?"

At this point, Sharpe had ripped his glasses off and had started to come increasingly irate whenever Skip interrupted him.

He continued: “You’re willing to take a personal shot at me, to say he’s better than me, because I say he’s playing bad this year?”

When Skip tried to justify his comments by saying that Sharpe was 'disrespecting' TB12, Shannon fired back with the perfect response.

"So you want to disrespect me to support him? Have it."

We're not privy to the broadcast figures for that episode of 'Undisputed', but you can imagine they'd be colossal.

As for the reaction online, the incredibly-spicy argument has now gone viral with fans taking to social media to throw their support behind the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens icon.

Kevin Gray Jr said: "Shannon Sharpe would’ve been within every right to jump across that table and put hands on Skip Bayless."

YouTuber Jake Ellenbogen tweeted: "Dear god Shannon Sharpe is one of the greatest at his position and Skip Bayless basically shrugged his playing career off to back Tom Brady."

Marc Lamont Hill added: "Jesus. When my brother Shannon Sharpe took off his glasses, I thought there was gonna be some furniture moving. I respect his discipline and patience."

While NFL analyst Rich Gannon weighed in, saying: "I have great respect for Shannon Sharpe as a player and analyst but even more importantly as a wonderful human being. He showed terrific restraint today… not sure I could have done that!"
