NFL legend Cam Newton put his allegiances to one side to build his perfect quarterback ahead of Super Bowl LX.

The culmination of the NFL season takes place on Sunday, when the New England Patriots take on the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium in California.

The Patriots are the joint most successful franchise in the history of the NFL along with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and are looking to win the Super Bowl for a record seventh time.

The Seahawks, meanwhile, are looking to win the Lombardi Trophy for just the second time in their history, with their only previous triumph coming back in 2014.

Patriots starlet Drake Maye could become one of the youngest ever quarterbacks to win the Super Bowl at just 23 years old, while his opposite number Sam Darnold is hoping to lead the Seahawks to glory in his first Super Bowl appearance.

Speaking to SPORTbible ahead of the mouth-watering clash, Carolina Panthers legend Newton designed his dream quarterback by combining some of the greatest players in NFL history.

When asked who had the best arm, Newton - who himself completed 2,682 passes during his 11-season NFL career - said Los Angeles Rams star Matthew Stafford and Green Bay Packers legend Aaron Rodgers, who is now at the Steelers.

For football IQ he put forward Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes and Baltimore Ravens' Lamar Jackson, while for leadership he nominated two icons in Patriots legend Tom Brady and 'the Sheriff', Peyton Manning.

For legs he picked Michael Vick and all-time leading quarterback rusher Jalen Hurts, while Brady and 49ers icon Joe Montana were named as the two 'most clutch' players the NFL has ever seen.

Finally, Newton saved his best answer for last, nominating New York Jets legend Joe Namath and Miami Dolphins icon Dan Marino.

"Aura? Broadway Joe and Dan Marino. The real guys and gals who know ball will appreciate this," said Newton, whose lone Super Bowl appearance with the Panthers ended in defeat to the Denver Broncos in 2015.

"Aura gods, so much aura that you would have thought it was aura-gami. But they're not folding!"
