He was credited for helping to build the Republican base among younger voters, and had more than eight million followers on his TikTok channel, The Charlie Kirk Show.

Riley Gaines Barker, a 25-year-old conservative political activist known for campaigning against the involvement of trans women in women's sports, took to Instagram to issue her condolences.
She wrote: "I'm so sick. Literal disbelief. We have a sickness in our society. The truth is so hated.
"Stop what you're doing and say a prayer to the Most High for Charlie Kirk and his family."

In the comments section, WNBA star Cunningham replied: "Prayers up."
The Indiana Fever guard has previously spoken about her own political views. She said that, as a white woman from Missouri, a lot of people assume that she holds conservative beliefs.
But the 29-year-old explained that she sits '.right in the middle'.
Her move to the Fever also saw her join forces with the WNBA's biggest star, Caitlin Clark, who was crucial as the team reached the play-offs last season. However, Clark will miss the remainder of the season due to injury, in a hugely damaging blow to the team.
