Steph Curry is finally set to lose an NBA record he stole from the iconic LeBron James back in 2017.
Both Curry and James are recognised stars of the game, with the pair enjoying success for the Golden State Warriors and LA Lakers, respectively.
The duo also turned out for Team US at the 2024 Olympics, winning gold in Paris last summer.
There are also rumours that both may link up at club level when James’ contract with the Lakers expires next summer.

That said, he has also hinted that he may retire at the end of the 2025/26 season owing to his growing business ventures.
His off-court ventures may prove more lucrative than playing in the NBA, having lost one record to Curry almost a decade ago.
Curry is currently the highest-paid player in NBA
During the 2016/17 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, James was the highest-paid star in NBA, bringing in $30,963,450 for that campaign.

Curry, though, trumped that from the 2017/18 season, where he brought in $34,682,550 and that figure has only increased in the years since.
The 37-year-old will make $59,606,817 in the coming campaign, which will rise to $62,587,158 in the 2026/27 season.

However, that run will end ahead of the 2027/28 season, where Joel Embiid will rake in an eye-watering $64,302,336 with the Philadelphia 76ers, which will only increase to $69,065,472 the following season.

Embiid was drafted by the 76ers in 2014 and has played for the Philly franchise ever since, and was named NBA MVP in 2023.
Embiid represented Team US for his son
The 31-year-old was also part of the USA side that beat France to Olympic gold in Paris last summer, though was frequently booed by the French fans, having chosen to represent Team US.
Embiid, who was born in Cameroon, sought to justify his decision to play for USA in October, stating he is doing so for his son, who was born in the US.

“After talking to my family, I knew it had to be Team USA. I want to play with my brothers in the league. I want to play for my fans because they’ve been incredible since the day I came here,” Embiid posted on his official X account.
“But most of all, I want to honor my son, who was born in the US. I want my boy to know I played my first Olympics for him.”
Embiid will hope to inspire the 76ers to a first NBA Championship since 1983, when they get their 2025/26 season underway next month with an opening matchday clash against the Boston Celtics.
