Michael Jordan Thinks NBA Player He Hated Is Better Point Guard Than Steph Curry

The NBA legend has opened up about who he thinks is the best Point Guard in history.

NBA legend Michael Jordan once admitted that there was a player that he hated that he believes is better than Steph Curry.

For years, basketball fans have debated which NBA player is the greatest of all time, with many suggesting it is between Chicago Bulls legend Jordan and current Los Angeles Lakers' star LeBron James.

However, more recently some fans have suggested that Steph Curry could go on to take the mantle should he have a successful end to his career.

So far, Curry has won the NBA title on four occasions and was named NBA Most Valuable Player twice and the NBA Finals MVP once.

Despite this, there is another player that Jordan himself has said was better than Curry, even though he has admitted that he once hated them.

Although Curry still has a way to go before he can be considered the greatest player of all time, many would now consider him to be the best point guard in NBA history.

Curry's impact on the modern NBA is considered to be undeniable as he played a part in the 3-point revolution, changing the way how teams run plays, while is shooting record is seriously impressive.

And yet, it appears that Jordan won't even give him that, as he revealed that there are two players who would consider to be better point guards, one of which he has said he hates.

While speaking on the popular 2020 Netflix documentary series 'The Last Dance', Jordan named Magic Johnson and former rival Isiah Thomas as the NBA's best point guards.

He said: "I respect Isiah Thomas' talent. To me, the best point guard of all time is Magic Johnson, and right behind him is Isiah Thomas, No matter how much I hate him, I respect his game."

Throughout the late late 1980s, Jordan and Thomas had a fierce rivalry on the court, leading to Jordan lobbying to keep Thomas off the 1992 Dream Team event.

However, it is possible that Curry's recent actions may have finally won Jordan over as the NBA legend once texted popular ESPN host Stephen A.Smith to give his opinion on the point guard discussion.

Back in 2023, Smith revealed that Jordan had texted: "Good morning sir. Although greatest of anything is always a debate, I beg to differ on 'greatest point guard of all time'.

"Magic Johnson is easily the best point guard of all time. Steph Curry is very close, but not in front of Magic. You must define point guard to really have a serious debate."

Although Jordan's opinion on Thomas vs Curry isn't exactly clear, it's obvious that Johnson's five NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers and the fact that he was named NBA Most Valuable Player on three occasions is enough to make him stand out on top.
