LeBron James has made his feelings clear on the massive new ownership news of the LA Lakers.
After a successful run of four decades and helping the franchise win 11 championships, the Buss family decided to sell their majority stake to Mark Walter in the most expensive sale for a North American Sports franchise at $10 billion.
The sale is not expected to change the role Governor Jeanie Buss has in the team.
Buss family will still have a minority stake in the team, but a majority will be with Walter, who also owns the MLB team - LA Dodgers.
LeBron James, who has a $52.6 million player option, was one of Buss' key signings for the Lakers in 2018. He helped them win a championship in 2020 and has continued showcasing brilliance in recent years as well.
However, sources have stated that the four-time NBA champion is excited about the new ownership.

Although James is 40 and is in the twilight years of his career, a lot of the decisions the Lakers made were keeping him in mind.
The new move is expected to be a positive step and ESPN Insider Dave McMenamin confirmed James and his co-star Luka Doncic are both excited with the arrival of Walter as the new owner.
"Speaking to people close to both Luka and LeBron James, there’s excitement about this move for what it means for this team. Obviously, having someone like Walter doesn’t mean that, all of a sudden, the salary cap goes out the window.
"There’s a new collective bargaining agreement in place that has punitive measures for teams that overspend. You lose draft picks, you can’t make trades and aggregate salaries, etc., etc., when you reach towards the second apron," said the Insider.
Another ESPN Reporter Ramona Shelburne confirmed that the sale was agreed between all six of the Buss siblings.
"Dr Jerry Buss structured the trust that owns the Lakers so that only his six children could decide on a sale. And it had to be a majority vote to sell. In 2017 the older brothers tried to force Jeanie Buss out as chairman of the board but lost that vote. Wednesday a majority of the six Buss siblings voted to sell to Mark Walter for $10 billion. Jeanie Buss was one of them." Shelburne tweeted.
Walters' purchase of the Dodgers has completely changed the fortunes of the team as they have managed to win two World Series under his ownership.
McMenamin has stated that the new Lakers takeover will have no 'bearing' on James' contract decision.
However, with his son Bronny James on the team and the arrival of a new ownership that has had a good history will be something he considers when making the decision.
