Chris Paul had to be restrained by his teammates after a fan allegedly got physical with his mother and wife.

The Phoenix Suns star was understandably fuming and went over to confront the man behind the bench before he was quickly escorted away from the scene by arena security.

According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, the fan put his hands on Paul’s mother before shoving the future Hall of Famer's wife while they were all in attendance watching to Suns take on the Dallas Mavericks.

ESPN's reports also say that Paul’s children witnessed the exchange and "felt very unsafe".

It didn't take long for footage of the incident to surface online and Paul looks visibly upset.

In one clip, the 37-year-old can be seen repeatedly yelling "I'll see you later" to the Mavericks fan as he's whisked away from his seat before things turned ugly.

In a seperate video posted on social media, Paul appears to be discussing the incident with security.

The incident made its way onto the radar of Mavericks officials who acted swiftly in releasing a statement.

“The Dallas Mavericks are aware of an incident between a fan and the family of Chris Paul,” the team said.

“It was unacceptable behaviour and will not be tolerated. The Mavericks, along with American Airlines Center, swiftly removed the fan from today’s game.”

Paul also came out and had his say on the matter.
