WNBA experts make huge Angel Reese call after 'sit out the season' demand

Angel Reese is seen as the future of Chicago Sky in the Women's National Basketball Association

WNBA expert Ari Chambers has made a huge Angel Reese call after receiving a ‘sit out the season’ demand.

Reese was recently criticised for an incorrect quote attributed to the Chicago Sky star, which stated: ‘Y’all make $1,400 a week, I make $1,400 in seven days’.

The quote has been debunked and Reese took to Instagram to state on the post in question: “I never said this. Y'all make up anything.”

The 23-year-old has been embroiled in the WNBA gender pay gap row and fan anonymously wrote in to ESPN’s new segment ‘Dubmoix’ to consider whether the Sky should take Reese out of the firing line.

The submission in question stated: “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it may be time for Chicago to shut down their star player for the rest of the season.

"A spot in the playoffs is so far from reasonable and injuries keep plaguing them... seriously something needs to change, and it may be time for someone to go.”

However, WNBA expert Ari Chambers quickly shot down the idea of Reese being dropped from the Sky side.

“Who to go, not Angel Reese!? Absolutely not,” Chambers said on Hoop Streams on ESPN show.

“If you’re Angel Reese, I understand that the Chicago Sky are not in good standing right now but you, as the franchise player of that team are going to do what you can do for your team.”

Chambers went on to make a bold call about Reese, adding: “And it’s ‘time for her to go’ where’s she going? This is the future of their franchise!

"No, you don’t get rid of her, are you beyond crazy!?”

Reese has been outspoken in the gender gap in the WNBA, so much so that she has had digs aimed at her from the likes of Ice Cube and WNBA icon Candace Parker.

Parker recently claimed she was 'not a hater' before appearing to list players she would take over Reese.

Reese took her to official X account to defend herself from Parker’s comments, stating: “Clout is one helluva DRUG. Like it really gets to a point.”

Chicago Sky boast a poor 7 and 21 record for the current WNBA season, sitting 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 0.250 win percentage.

The only team keeping them off of the bottom of the league is Connecticut Sun, with an even worse 5 and 22 record.
