UFC star Jon Jones posted a worrying live video on social media before abruptly ending it which has left fans concerned.

The 37-year-old is currently UFC heavyweight champion and boasts an impressive MMA record of 28 wins from 30 matches, with only one loss by disqualification and a no contest.

Jones was last in action at UFC 309 in mid-November when he defeated Stipe Miocic and defended his heavyweight title.

After the fight, he suggested he could retire from his career in the Octagon, but also hinted he could be tempted into one last bout, with many wanting him to see him take on rising star Tom Aspinall.

The Salford-born fighter holds the interim UFC heavyweight title and boasts a record of 15 wins from 18 matches, with three defeats.

A meeting between Jones and Aspinall has been tipped and UFC president Dana White has reassured fans the pair will go head-to-head in the Octagon at some stage to see which fighter can become UFC's undisputed heavyweight champion.

Speaking to Piers Morgan about Aspinall, as per the Daily Mirror, White said: "A young, aggressive heavyweight that he actually wants to fight all the best. The problem in this business is you have a lot of guys who say things publicly, but behind the curtains don’t mean it, don’t really want these fights.

"Tom Aspinall is not that guy. Tom Aspinall wants to fight all the best in the world and I love that.

"We make this Jon Jones fight... obviously, a fight like that for a young and talented heavyweight and if he can win and he can beat Jon Jones, it’s life-changing.

"If you’re a fighter, you better have that. That’s what you have to have. If you want to be one of the all time greats, that’s exactly what you have to have."

But ahead of that potential fight, fans have been concerned about what Jones has recently posted to social media.

The UFC heavyweight champion ended an Instagram Live video which shows him walking in an unknown location outside at night, suggesting he wanted to take someone else's life.

Before ending the video, he said: "You go on a trip, and get p*ssed off, disappointed. And as a Dad, you just wanna kill ‘em."

It is unclear what Jones was specifically referring to and what state he was in when the video was broadcast, but fans have expressed concern over it.

One wrote: "Sucks to see that. Hopefully more comes out about this."

Another posted: "Jon’s talking about killing it in the fight game, not people. Don’t read too much into it, he's just got that warrior mindset."

One fan wrote: "Going live in some sort of storm in the middle of the night and slurring words that sound like wanting to kill someone is never a good thing to see/hear. Hopefully, he’s alright and he’s not back to his old self."

And another fan posted: "If you’re not perfect you can’t judge him. If you truly care then wish him well and pray for him."
