Dana White makes huge announcement about future of UFC and WWE events

Dana White has provided an update on the future of UFC and WWE's working relationship through the TKO Group.

Dana White has made a blockbuster announcement about the future of UFC and WWE events going forward.

Both UFC and WWE have both been under the same umbrella as part of the TKO Group following the completion of a merger between the two giants in September 2023.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson joined the board of directors not long after and the unification is already proving to be incredibly positive for the growth of both companies.

And White, the UFC's CEO and president, has revealed how the schedule is set to look in the near future.

At present both UFC and WWE run their major events on Saturday but according to the 54-year-old, the wrestling behemoths is poised to return to Sundays to complete stacked TKO weekends in the same city.

It would also include White's controversial 'Power Slap' brand.

"We already have those dates set up right now where Power Slap goes Friday and UFC goes Saturday," he said in a press conference.

"You’re going to see Friday, Power Slap, Saturday, UFC, and Sunday, WWE. You’ll start seeing that stuff too.”

WWE's Premium Live Events have been very successful on Saturdays but for a while the pay-per-views were always on Sundays.

There hasn't been too much cross-over from UFC and WWE since the merger, aside from Michael Chandler appearing on Monday Night Raw and calling out upcoming opponent Conor McGregor.

But in April it was confirmed that NXT, WWE's developmental brand, would be running their Battleground show from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas.

The event takes place on June 9 at the venue UFC use for Fight Night cards, the Ultimate Fighter and Dana White's Contender Series.
