On Saturday (28 February), Britain’s Lone’er Kavanagh pulled off a shock upset, beating Brandon Moreno by unanimous decision in Mexico City.
Meanwhile, Mexico’s David Martinez defeated Marlon Vera by unanimous decision in a bantamweight bout, following King Green’s second-round knockout triumph against Daniel Zellhuber.

Several other Mexican fighters put on a show for their home crowd, including Imanol Rodriguez, Santiago Luna, Cristian Quiñonez and Regina Tarín.
Following the event, two fighters have reportedly been removed from the UFC’s roster.
As reported by MMA Fighting, Bunes and José Daniel Medina have been removed after both suffering defeats on the card.
Brazilian Bunes first signed with the promotion in 2024, winning one and losing three of his four fights under the UFC banner. As previously mentioned, he lost by split decision against Chairez last time out.

Bunes’ only win in the UFC came against Jose Johnson before successive decision losses against Rafael Estevam and Chairez.
Medina leaves the promotion having lost all four of his bouts in the UFC. The Bolivian lost by first-round knockout against Ryan Gandra in Mexico on Saturday.
The South American previously suffered knockout defeats against Dusko Todorovic and Ateba Gautier. He also lost by decision to Zach Reese.

The UFC returns on 8 March, with Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira set to go toe-to-toe for the BMF belt at UFC 326 in Paradise, Nevada.
Caio Borralho takes on Reinier de Ridder in the evening’s co-main event, with Rob Font up against Raul Rosas Jr on the main card.
Drew Dober faces Michael Johnson in a lightweight bout, while Gregory Rodrigues takes on Brunno Ferreira in a middleweight contest.
The next numbered card after Saturday’s event is UFC 327, which will take place on 11 April, with light-heavyweights Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg set to headline the card.
Joshua Van will defend his flyweight title against Tatsuro Taira. Heavyweights Curtis Blaydes and Josh Hokit will also feature on the main card.
Fans will also be looking forward to the card announcement for the upcoming UFC White House event, which is set to take place on the South Lawn in Washington. White has explained that he will release the full card later this week.
