Conor McGregor's first-ever tweet to Dana White from before he was in the UFC resurfaces

Conor McGregor's first-ever tweet to Dana White from before he was in the UFC resurfaces

Conor McGregor sent a tweet to Dana White back in 2012.

Conor McGregor's first-ever tweet to Dana White has surfaced online and it shows how far he's come in his career.

McGregor, who is set to return to action against Michael Chandler at UFC 303, has enjoyed a legendary career in the UFC.

He beat Jose Aldo to win the UFC featherweight title and made history at UFC 205 when he became the first fighter to hold UFC championships in two weight classes simultaneously.

But before he joined the MMA leaders, McGregor pleaded with White to sign him up to the promotion back in 2012.

He sent a message to the UFC boss about giving him a crack at the 'big time' in a brilliant post on social media

The 'Notorious' tweeted: "When you gonna give an IRISHMAN a crack at the big time @danawhite @UFC, Conor 'The Notorious' McGregor!! #145lbs-K.O-KING,,,KILLIN EM ALL."

At the time of the post, McGregor was plying his trade for Cage Warriors and boasted a 11-2 pro record. He had just beaten Dave Hill to become the CWFC featherweight champion.

Unfortunately for the Irishman, the UFC didn't sign him in 2012, but he made Cage Warriors history by defeating Ivan Buchinger to claim the CWFC lightweight title to become the promotion's first simultaneous two-weight champion. After claiming his second CWFC belt, White came calling and snapped up McGregor, who made an instant impression on his Octagon debut.

He destroyed Marcus Brimage in just 67-seconds to record a sensational UFC victory.

McGregor then beat Max Holloway, Diego Brandao, Dustin Poirier and Dennis Siver before earning a crack at UFC gold.

He beat Chad Mendes to win the interim UFC featherweight title before unifying the division against Aldo.

After exacting revenge against Nate Diaz, McGregor captured the UFC lightweight title following a masterful showing against Eddie Alvarez.
