Conor McGregor has been tipped to fight for a UFC title that he has never competed for after revealing he is in 'negotiations' with the promotion.
McGregor is edging closer to his UFC return, having not fought for the MMA leaders since his defeat to Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
He was due to return in the summer of 2024 until a toe injury forced him to withdraw from his scheduled clash against Michael Chandler.
The 'Notorious' had hoped to land on the White House card, but it appears Dana White is looking in another direction, with Ariel Helwani claiming a mega showdown is in the works for the event celebrating Donald Trump's 80th birthday and USA's 250th founding.
But McGregor still harbours ambitions of fighting on the South Lawn but admits his comeback could also take place 'sometime in the summer'.

Sometime in the summer, McGregor will return."
Conor McGregor has 'two options' including title fight
Who could welcome McGregor back to the famed Octagon? Well, Helwani has proposed two options, including a title fight in the shape of the BMF belt, which is being contested between holder Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira at this weekend's UFC 326 in Las Vegas.
The other option being a trilogy against old rival Nate Diaz, who is currently not contracted with the UFC.
Ariel Helwani has suggested Conor McGregor competes for the BMF title in his UFC comeback. Image: Getty On The Ariel Helwani Show, he explained: "As far as Conor is concerned, there's two options in my opinion. It's you bring back Nate Diaz, or, it's the winner of Charles Oliveira vs. Max Holloway.
"He's got a history with Max. The Oliveira fight - obviously people love Charles, it's a fresh matchup and you could put a belt at stake, you could put a belt on the line."
McGregor has had two legendary battles against Diaz, who scored a stunning upset finish in their first bout at UFC 196 in March 2016.
He exacted revenge a few months later at UFC 202, beating him on points in a five-round war.
A trilogy almost 10 years in the making could finally happen in 2026.
As for the BMF title, McGregor has never challenged for the symbolic belt since its inception in 2019.
Given his exciting style and legendary career, the Irishman would qualify to fight for the BMF strap.
