MMA fighter claims shocking TKO victory by picking up and slamming opponent while being submitted

This is perhaps one of the most brutal TKOs you’ll ever see.

The sport of MMA can produce some absolutely wild knockout blows, but this one from Georgian fighter Gocha Shainidze is plain impressive.

It came in a GFC matchup against Armenian fighter Harutyun Harutunyan just a couple of minutes into the first round.

Shainidze found himself struggling on the end of a buggy chokehold from his opponent.

Instead of fading to the ground the Georgian proceeds to repeatedly pick up and slam Harutunyan onto the mat.

He manages to get up and find his footing all while his opponent was draped around his neck attempting to choke him out.

Shainidze slams him, not once, not twice, but five times in an absolutely brutal manner.

The phrase ‘If at first, you don’t succeed, try, try again’ certainly seems to apply here.

You’d think after the second or third slam Harutunyan may have realised the choke wasn’t quite working and let go.

The Armenian certainly looked hurt and busted open by the impact by the fourth slam in shocking scenes.

Once he finally lets go of the hold, the camera pans away, presumably to hide the savage ground and pound before the referee stops the fight.

Incredible show of strength and tenacity from the fighter.

Fans were seriously impressed with Shainidze.

One wrote: “This dude has never missed leg day god damn.”

Another said: “The correct way to escape a buggy choke.”

While others questioned the atactic of the Armenian fighter to keep the hold when it clearly wasn’t working.

One fan said: “At what point do you just say ‘maybe this ain’t working’.”

Another added: “After getting slammed on his head once, he should’ve realised that the risks of holding onto that position far outweigh the chances of success. I don’t trust that man’s judgement.”

Either way, it’s an absolutely brutal way to win a fight.
