MMA Fighter Found Dead In Bali After Suspected Scooter Crash

Authorities are still trying to work out whether he was drink driving at the time.

The combat sports community has been rocked by the tragic death of an up-and-coming MMA fighter.

According to news.com, Keith Thomas Coughlan was reportedly found dead in a drainage ditch in Bali following a scooter accident.

It's understood local authorities are still trying to work out whether he was drink driving at the time.

The 26-year-old is an Irish citizen who had been living in Fremantle, Western Australia and was over in Bali training.

But over the weekend, a local resident stumbled up Coughlan on a North Kuta road at around 5am on Sunday morning.

Reports suggest he was unresponsive and trapped under the wreckage of his scooter.

Emergency services were called to the scene but Coughlan was pronounced dead.

According to Nine News, police claim they found several bottles of beer when they arrived at the scene.

By all accounts, Coughlan was a talented mixed martial artist and won his first bout just a month prior to his sad passing.

The victory was at Canggu Fight Night 23 and he was tipped to fight again in the next coming months.

Terribly sad news.

Rest In Peace, Keith.
