Rising Aussie Jack Della Maddalena is receiving praise upon praise from UFC fans after earning himself a third-straight knockout victory.

The MMA star continued his hot-streak at UFC Vegas 65 over the weekend, finishing off opponent Danny Roberts inside the first round.

The welterweight secured his third consecutive first-round knockout victory by pummeling Roberts with a barrage of ‘nasty’ punches.

It means Della Maddalena is currently on a 13-fight win streak and is seriously staking his claim to become a ranked fighter in the UFC welterweight division.

He impressed Dana White at his Contender Series in 2021, and since being signed to the UFC has showcased himself to be one of the most impressive finishers in the promotion.

The West Australian native is looking ahead to be added to the UFC 284 card in Perth to fight in front of his home crowd against a ranked fighter.

He said after the fight: “It meant a lot.

“I felt a bit of pressure. I wanted to get this one out of the way to get to Perth. I’m gunning for Perth.

“Anybody in Perth would be ideal and then just on a bigger and better year next year.”

The UFC event Down Under is already stacked with a flurry of local talent.

The likes of Robert Whittaker and Tyson Pedro are set to feature, whilst Alex Volkanovski is going up against Islam Makachev in the main event for the lightweight belt.

And UFC fans believe Jack Della Maddalena has more than earned his position on the card.

One fan tweeted: “Great finish by Jack Della Maddalena and he’s ready for some top-level competition.”

Another said: “Jack Della Maddalena is one of the most exceptional strikers I’ve seen in the welterweight division. His shot selection is already among the best in the sport. His offensive talent is bordering on generational.”

A third wrote: “Jack Della is ready for the top 15, giving him unranked guys might be harmful for their health, what a talent.”

A fourth added: “Jack Della Maddalena is just nasty. Still my rookie of the year for 2022.”

The breakout Australian is being tipped to win the prestigious UFC Rookie of the Year award.
