Manny Akpan Produces Insane Spinning Hook Kick For MMA Knockout Of The Year

MMA fighter Manny Akpan produced the best knockout you will see in 2022 after sending his opponent into next week with an insane spinning hook kick.

Featherweight Akpan took on Connor Hutchens at Cage Warriors 136 at the BEC Arena in Manchester and he got the business done in the second round in spectacular fashion.

With 27 seconds remaining of round two, Akpan, out of nowhere, twisted his body and in one swift motion, conjured up the most outrageous wheel kick.

On the spin, Akpan caught Hutchens flush on the jaw and the devastating blow caused him to fall face down into the canvas.

He turned around threw some punches but the damage had already been done and the referee stepped into to call the fight.

Akpan celebrated wildly, sprinting across the cage and scaling it to share the special moment with his team.

The card was streamed live on UFC's Fight Pass network and it was a stunning way for Akpan to show what he's all about.

It was genuinely like something you'd see on Street Fighter or Tekken and evoked memories of Joaquin Buckley's incredible finish to beat Impa Kasanganay on UFC Fight Island 5 in October 2020.

Akpan had lost via submission in his previous bout at Cage Warriors 123 but returned to winning ways with the fourth victory of his professional career.

As for Hitchen, he won his first six fights but will now need to go back to the drawing board suffered back-to-back defeats.
