Jorge Masvidal tells Joe Rogan he wants to to 'legally f**king murder' Colby Covington

"Legally, in the cage, in the UFC, I’m gonna f**king snatch his soul one way or another."

Jorge Masvidal's rivalry with Colby Covington is far from done.

The UFC fan favourite has promised to 'f**king murder' Covington before he retires – vouching to do it 'legally' though, of course.

Friends turned fierce foes, the heated feud between Masvidal and Covington is perhaps one of the UFC's spiciest grudge matches to date.

Following growing tensions away from the cage, the two former trainer partners' once-great relationship quickly deteriorated and they eventually had a very public divorce.

So, it seemed only appropriate for the UFC to throw them in an octagon together and lock the doors.

But prior to that, us fans were subject to some very relentless and very personal trash-talking during the build-up to their scrap at UFC 272.

During the bout itself, it was Covington who got his hand raised, utilising his wrestling background to keep Masvidal's striking at bay.

Unfortunately, their bad blood spilled over into the streets as Masvidal allegedly assaulted his fellow UFC star outside a steakhouse 14 days after their fight.

Charges were pressed with a trial set for May.

In the meantime, Masvidal has opened up about his conflict with 'Chaos' to UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

“I didn’t get him that time (at UFC 272), but I promise you: Before my career’s over, I’m gonna f**king murder Colby in the cage. Legally,” Masvidal said on Rogan's podcast.

“Allegedly a lot of things happened (illegally). I don’t know, they’re saying a lot of things, but it’s all allegedly. Sh*t, man. I don’t know what they’re talking about, man. But legally, in the cage, in the UFC, I’m gonna f**king snatch his soul one way or another.”

When it came to crunch time, Masvidal came up short and was unable to combat Covington's takedowns.

But, if he's granted a rematch, he promises the end result will be a lot different.

“I wanted to f**king kill him, I wanted to hurt him,” Masvidal added.

“It just wasn’t the best version of me. In this sport – it’s what I love about it – what happened happened, and everything else is bulls**t, right? So, until we fight again, nobody will get to see that better version of me. But I promise you, before I close this chapter in my life in MMA, I will have competed against this guy and I’m gonna f**king take his soul.

“I just know it after being those five rounds in there with him and that was the best that he had and I was nowhere near my best at that time for different reasons. I know I could f**king end this guy.”
