Two days of exhilarating racing lie ahead for racing fans on the famous Epsom Downs at the 2021 Derby Festival.

Of course, the festival's highlight is the Derby itself on Saturday, but one cannot forget about the main course on Friday - and that being the Oaks.

The Cazoo Oaks is the first feature race of the meeting, with the fillies' Classic the concluding act in ITV's star-studded five-race Epsom offering.

Ante-post favourite Santa Barbara heads 14 fillies in contention for the coveted race held at 4.30pm on the famous Surrey racecourse.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained runner will be on something of a retrieval mission in the 12-furlong spectacle, having only finished fourth when the joint-favourite in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier this month.

She could form part of a strong Ballydoyle challenge with impressive Musidora winner Snowfall also in the mix for O'Brien, along with Divinely, La Jaconde and Willow.

Last year's Oaks was won by Love after Ryan Moore gave her a peach of a ride to hack home in first, which you can watch below.

Speaking of those with chances, Jordan Cox, trader at Star Sports, shared his thoughts ahead of the race on Friday.

He said: "Aidan O'Brien and the Coolmore charge head the front of the market in both Classic races this weekend, with ante-post favourites Santa Barbara [Oaks] and Bolshoi Ballet [Derby] both holding their positions.

"In the Oaks, Snowfall, ridden by Frankie Dettori, has been a big drifter in the market this morning out to 7/1 from 9/2.

"Meanwhile, Zeyaadah has been very well supported with us into 4/1 from 6/1 overnight, and continues to be strong in the market in what could be a good day for connections - who also have Al Aasy as favourite in the Coronation Cup."

This year's renewal is worth a cool £375,000 to owners and trainers, so expect the top horses to bring their A-games.

With all that said, let's take a look at how the fillies line up ahead of the big race on Friday.
