Donald Trump Makes Special Request to Golf Star at UK State Banquet

The US President has been in the UK this week as part of the state visit

LGPA star Charley Hull has revealed what she and US President Donald Trump discussed at the state banquet in Windsor on Wednesday evening.

Trump has been in the UK for the state visit this week, while Hull was a special guest at the state banquet at Windsor Castle.

Hull was one of a number of golf representatives in attendance in the week, which included Sir Nick Faldo, while athlete Dame Katherine Grainger was also a special guest for the banquet.

The British golf star is a huge Trump fan having previously called for the 79-year-old to be named ‘head of the UK’.

In addition, Hull also performed the ‘Trump Dance’ on the fairway in November’s Annika tournament on the LGPA tour.

And Hull, who had the chance to speak with Trump on Wednesday, revealed that he had one special request for the 29-year-old.

Trump's special request for Hull revealed

“I spoke to him last night and he has invited me (to play),” Hull told BBC Radio 5 Live on Thursday, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“He has said he wants to sort a game out. That is pretty cool. Last year he reached out actually to my agent and he wanted to play at the end of the year but I think I was going on holiday.

“We spoke about it last night and we are really going to try and sort a game out before the end of the year which will be pretty cool.”

Hull also added that she spoke with the US President ‘for a little while’, stating: “He is a lovely man and I really got on with him.

“I will look forward to playing golf with him and he was very engaging with everyone. We were just talking about golf and he knows a few players on the LGPA Tour and some of the guys as well.”

Hull had arrived in Windsor fresh off the course as she claimed victory at the Kroger Queen City Championship, which marked her first victory on the US circuit in over three years.

Hull was previously busted for smoking while competing

The LGPA star has previously drawn attention for smoking cigarettes while competing, but earlier this year, she revealed that she quit after a £10,000 bet that shouldn’t smoke for two months.

Trump, meanwhile, left the UK to return stateside on Thursday evening as the US President and King Charles III hailed the “special relationship” between the two countries.

However, in a poll run by The Independent, 63% of readers voted that Trump’s visit to the UK sends the wrong message when asked whether this is a priority, with some feeling it was out of touch with the realities of austerity.
