Argentina were crowned world champions on Sunday

Footage capturing a fan celebrating Argentina’s World Cup victory whilst holding a goat has gone viral.

Argentina went head to head against France on Sunday as they battled to become the kings of football.

The two best teams of the entire tournament in Qatar produced a classic that will go down as one of the best matches ever.

Argentina eventually won the World Cup after winning a dramatic penalty shootout 4-2.

When Argentina were crowned champions, fans started celebrating wildly around the world as they finally got to see Lionel Messi get his hands on the World Cup.

However, one fan took celebrating to a whole new level, you can watch the footage below.

The fan was captured dancing and jumping up and down whilst holding a goat that was dressed in an Argentina shirt after Gonzalo Montiel’s winning penalty kick.

Fans took to social media to react to the footage.

One said: “Now, that’s how we do it!”

Another commented: “Omg Messi has got a twin.”

A third fan added: “I mean this is surely too much hahaha.”

Since winning the World Cup, many fans feel that Messi has well and truly cemented himself as the greatest of all time ahead of long-term rival Cristiano Ronaldo.

Despite talks of him retiring from international football after the triumph in Qatar, Messi has stated that he wants to continue playing for his country.

He said: “Obviously I wanted to complete my career with this – I can’t ask for more.

“Finishing my career this way is impressive. After this, what else? I have a Copa América, a World Cup, almost at the very end.

“I love football, what I do. I enjoy being part of the national team, the group. I want to enjoy a couple more matches being a world champion.”

Before the tournament, Messi declared that the 2022 World Cup would be his last. But manager Lionel Scaloni has left the door open for him.

He said: “We need to save him a spot for the [next] World Cup.

“If he wants to keep playing, he will be with us. He is more than entitled to decide if he wants to keep playing and what he wants to do with his career.”
