Boris Johnson once admitted he follows "every team in London" when asked about which football team he supports.

The UK prime minister is a known football fan and passionately argued against a proposed formation of the European Super League last year.

He hasn't committed his support to one team and while Mayor of London, he revealed that every team in the capital has his attention.

"I support all of the London teams," Johnson said back in 2015 before adding his children support Newcastle United.

Johnson was regularly pictured at Wembley during England's run to the Euro 2020 final, wearing a shirt with 'Boris 10' on the back.

The 57-year-old didn't elaborate on how far down the footballing pyramid this support goes.

So if you're a Leyton Orient or Sutton United fan, maybe you don't share a team with Johnson. Make of that what you will.

Johnson has been in the firing line in recent weeks due to a series of parties held at 10 Downing Street in May 2020.

Over 100 people were invited when the entire nation was in lockdown for the first time.

Johnson has insisted the party was actually a 'work event' but many in the media didn't believe him.

Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher decided to poke fun at the saga during Friday Night Football.

The duo were on punditry duty during Brighton vs Crystal Palace and stressed how important the right mindset is.

"It is a peculiar rivalry but to be fair, these Friday night football matches we were at Brentford last time it was fantastic... we always seem to get a party," Neville said before raising his eyebrows.

Carragher then takes over with: "Let's be straight this is NOT a party tonight, this is about work. If you speak to Graham Potter, Patrick Vieira, the 22 players on the pitch, they've got to know the difference between work and a party.

"If they get that wrong and think like they're in party mode, they're going to be in big, big trouble."

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Queen Elizabeth II is a fan of West Ham United.

Her Majesty told one of her staff members after overhearing he was a Millwall fan.

According to The Daily Mirror, the Queen “shocked” her Buckingham Palace staff at the time with the claim.
