Trent Alexander Arnold has just scored a beauty for England against Malta.

On Friday night, Gareth Southgate’s men are in action as they take on Malta in the qualifying round for Euro 2024.

Ahead of the match, the main talking point was whether Southgate will start Alexander Arnold and in which position.

As expected, the England boss decided to deploy the Liverpool man in midfield, a role that he has been playing towards the back end of the 22/23 season for his club.

After a positive start, England went ahead on the back of a beautiful pass from Alexander Arnold, who managed to find Bukayo Saka wide on the right-hand side.

The Arsenal man played the ball into the penalty area and was bundled in by Malta defender Ferdinando Apap.

After being involved in the build-up of the first goal, Alexander Arnold then showcased his shooting ability with a stunner in the 28th minute.

After receiving the ball on the edge of the area, he unleashed an unstoppable drive into the back of the net.

Fans were quick to react to Alexander Arnold’s goal on social media.

One said: “Trent Alexander Arnold you Beauty what a goal!!! Get him in midfield!!!”

Another tweeted: “What a goal from our best Midfielder in the world. Amazing shot. Magical Trent Alexander Arnold.”

A third fan added: “WHAT A BEAUTIFUL GOAL BY TRENT ALEXANDER ARNOLD!!!”

Someone else wrote: “Oh my days that is beautiful from Trent Alexander Arnold, where are his haters now??”

Whilst a fifth commented: “I slate Trent Alexander Arnold off a lot but that was a cracking goal.”

Minutes later, Harry Kane made it 3-0 from the penalty spot after the England captain was fouled inside the area.

Southgate’s men are well on their way to a comfortable victory.
