Cristiano Ronaldo has apparently made the 'irreversible' decision to leave Spain with his sudden haste to get out linked to his the charges against him for tax fraud. But interested teams will have to stump up a fair amount for him.
Today the footballing world was rather shocked to hear that the best player in the world on current form, literally unquestionable this calendar year, had told his club he wanted to leave Spain.
In theory the news comes from absolutely out of nowhere but it seems that it's completely to do with the fact that officials have filed a lawsuit against the Real Madrid superstar for alleged tax fraud.

But if Ronaldo doesn't want to stay in Spain anymore then he's going to have to move. PSG and Manchester United are favourites with somewhere in China next in the betting.
So how much would a club have to spend for him? Well according to Spanish newspaper Marca it looks like Real could accept bids of £157.5 million, or €180 million, to let the forward go.
That figure is a long way short of the reported €1 billion transfer release clause in his contract.
However it's not actually a new figure or one they have concocted on the spot and actually comes from earlier this month, not even 10 days ago in fact.

The €180 million price comes from a report in Portuguese paper A Bola, via Marca, from June 7th. The paper then said that Los Blancos were expecting offers of that much from clubs.
Could he actually leave the Bernabeu? Image: PA
Funnily enough at the time the clubs mentioned were PSG, United and non defined Chinese clubs but Monaco were also included in that list, although that certainly seems like a more unlikely option.

It suggests that a Bernabeu departure could have actually been on the cards before the tax evasion lawsuit and subsequent claims he can't be persuaded to stay in the Iberian peninsular.
Is this his replacement? Image: PA
That price would absolutely smash the current world record for a transfer, held by Paul Pogba, and would be a hell of a price for a 32-year-old.
