Samir Nasri Set To Finally Secure Move Away From Manchester City

Samir Nasri Set To Finally Secure Move Away From Manchester City

The French midfielder isn't wanted by Pep Guardiola but it's taken most of the summer to get rid of him.

The start of the season is always fun because one or two transfers will pass you by that you've no idea why someone just turned up for a new team. Samir Nasri on the other hand is the transfer you assumed you'd missed, but up to now he's still at Manchester City.

Yesterday at the beginning of the Stoke City game a friend messaged me asking me when Jese Rodriguez had signed for the Potters, understandable considering it was only a few days earlier, he followed up with that message to ask me about Darren Fletcher- he'd had a mare with that one.

There's so many transfers that some of them can obviously pass you by and as I already said some players seem so inevitable to leave their club that when you haven't seen them play in the first couple of games you assume they've gone.

That would have been an easy thought to have about Samir Nasri, after spending last season on loan at Sevilla you'd be forgiven for thinking the Frenchman was no longer a Manchester City player, but you'd be wrong.

However now it looks like the former Arsenal player will be heading off to Turkey with BBC Sport and Goal reporting that he's on the verge of signing a deal to join Antalyaspor on a two year deal.

City paid £25 million for Nasri back in 2011 and were hoping to get in the region of £15 million and £20 million but according to Goal that figure won't even be as high as £10 million.

Finding a club willing to pay the £180,000-a-week that the 30 year-old is on at the Etihad has been the main stumbling block in moving him on for Guardiola.

It's believed that there will be a break clause in the two time Premier League winner's contract should he be banned for using an illegal drip service in America.
