The Tottenham striker hasn't exactly pulled up any trees since moving to the Premier League but they could make a profit on him today.

Not all signings can have the desired effect that you were hoping for and sometimes you've got to cut your losses and sell a player a year after signing them. However in Spurs case they aren't going to cut any losses with Vincent Janssen but actually make a profit.

For a couple of years Tottenham have basically had the same problem, they have one very good striker, in Harry Kane, but there isn't really enough backing him up for when he's injured, or when it's August.

The Englishman is so good but still needs help and that means signing either a youngster with lots of hope or an older player with lots of experience. Last summer they signed one from the former category.

Vincent Janssen came in from AZ Alkmaar for £17 million after scoring 27 goals in 34 games for the Eredivisie club in his one season after signing from Almere City. Lots was hoped of the 23 year old.

However he only managed six goals last season, with most of those seemingly coming from the penalty spot, and Spurs now look set to move him on. Incredibly, according to the Daily Mail, that could be for profit with the newspaper reporting a £23 million move to West Brom.

Stoke are also interested in signing the Dutch striker as they also look to add more goals to their squad before the transfer deadline shuts but West Brom are clearly ahead having already put a bid in.

The fee would be a £6 million profit in a year which, even with this summer's inflated prices, would be very decent business by Spurs considering that it would mean an increase of £1 million per goal at Spurs.

Pochettino is looking to bring in a new number two striker and has had a bid accepted for Swansea's Fernando Llorente already this morning, as he looks to beat Chelsea to the signing of the Spaniard.
