Philippe Coutinho's transfer from Liverpool to Barcelona must surely be over by now, or at least just about to be. But now there's another snag as the player asks for a big signing on fee.
If there was a world record for the amount of times written about Philippe Coutinho since the beginning of last summer's transfer window I'm pretty sure I'd have smashed it, so much so I might have even written a similar intro already.
The Brazilian's clearly dream move to Barcelona has been more on and off that Ross and Rachel, because everyone knows Dr. Ross, and Rachel from Bookkeeping are a hell of an item (one for the Scrubs fans).
However that was more the theme of the summer and now we've reached 2018 it has started to feel as inevitable as City winning the Premier League this season. But wait, there's more!

Reports from Spain are suggesting there's one more hurdle to jump over before the deal is done, and this time it's between the player and buying club. Mundo Deportivo report that Coutinho is actually asking for a signing on fee of £13 million!
It seems like a lot of money to be paying for his services especially when the La Liga leaders are going to splashing a lot of cash just for Liverpool to accept their offer in the first place, his wages aren't going to be too shoddy either are they.
On top of that the former Inter Milan midfielders whole move seems to have nothing to do with money and more a desire to play for the Catalan club and win trophies with them, especially after Liverpool's reported late attempts to get him to stay.

The report does suggest that Nike's deal with Barca and the player could see them increase how much they pay the 25 year-old.
Barca will reportedly pay £106 million up front for the player with the deal eventually worth up to £140 million once all the add ons are reached, through appearances and trophies won.

It seems like it will happen someday soon, perhaps for my sake we should all hope it does.
