Liverpool Fans Name Transfer Target They Most Want At Anfield

Liverpool fans have voted on who they'd like the club to sign next this summer, and it's not Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

So far this summer has been relatively quiet for Liverpool, with only Ibrahima Konate joining the club from RB Leipzig to add move cover in central defence.

It wasn't a good season for Jurgen Klopp's team in their last campaign, as they came up very short in the defence of their Premier League title.

Fans will be hoping for more reinforcement, especially with Klopp having not replaced Georginio Wijnaldum, after the Dutchman went to PSG when his contract expired at Anfield.

The club have heavily been linked with Atleti star Saul, who fell out of favour with Diego Simeone last season, amongst several other midfielders.

According to a poll, run by Sporting Index, fans of the Reds would like to see Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans move to Merseyside.

37% of those who were polled went with the Belgium midfielder, who scored the winning goal in last season's FA Cup final against Chelsea.

Saul is at least second on the list, with the Spain midfielder, who wasn't part of the Euro 2020 squad, receiving 30% of the vote.

The 26-year-old has also been linked with a move to Manchester United recently but it is the links to Barcelona that are most interesting.

According to reports Barca are interested in swapping him for Antoine Griezmann, with the Catalan giants needing to raise funds.

The move would see the France forward return to Atleti and Barca get money and a midfielder in return, though the forward wasn't even told about the move.

Wolves wing back Adama Traore was third on the poll with 20%, whilst Sampdoria's Mikkel Damsgaard rounded off the votes with 13%.

As well as a midfielder, reports have claimed that Liverpool had a bid for Juventus forward Federico Chiesa turned down, after his impressive performances in Euro 2020.
