How would Manchester United fans feel at the end of the season if Paul Pogba is allowed to leave for a second time? We may be about to find out with the board backing Mourinho over his possible sale.

The last time Paul Pogba left Old Trafford it was the Frenchman's choice but it wasn't helped by Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to play Rafael and Park Ji-Sung in midfield in a game against Blackburn Rovers in 2011.

Will Pogba end up on our list of biggest Manchester United flops?

Allowing him to leave turned out to be one of Fergie's less brilliant decisions with the Frenchman going on to be one of the best midfielders in the world and costing United £89 million to bring him back, although that hasn't worked out either.

The former Juventus man's form has been completely lacking recently and he was once again hauled off in the second half in United's abysmal loss to West Brom on Sunday, leading to rumours he will be leaving in the summer.

There were reports yesterday that Mourinho could look to sell Pogba if his form doesn't improve and according to the Telegraph today the board are ready to back the manager should he decide to sell the 25 year old.

The paper does say that right now the former Real Madrid manager actually has no plans to sell Pogba and the midfielder remains in his thoughts for next season but he could be tempted if performances and attitude continue to go downhill.

Pogba, as well as some other big name players like Alexis Sanchez, are due to sit out tonight's game with Bournemouth, and could also miss out on the FA Cup semi final against Spurs on the weekend, after their poor performances against West Brom at the weekend.

Mourinho is set for yet another overhaul of his team this season and that is also set to be backed by the board who still believe that the former Chelsea boss has improved the side but they must make a better challenge for the league next season.

The Red Devils are likely to sign a midfielder or two in the summer as well as full backs and a centre back.

Will Pogba still be there though?
