Kylian Mbappe is ready to tell PSG that he wants to leave the French champions this summer, and Liverpool is reportedly his 'preferred' destination.

There has been ever increasing speculation about Mbappe's future in the French capital, especially after his hat-trick against Barcelona in the Champions League two weeks ago.

Real Madrid are known admirers of the World Cup winner, and originally expected to sign him when he left for Monaco, with Liverpool also one of the favourites to sign the forward.

Now it's being reported that the Premier League champions are the most likely to sign the 22-year-old and are considered his 'prefered' location.

Speaking on his podcast, Transfer Window Podcast, journalist Duncan Castles claimed that Mbappe is ready to leave this summer.

"He [Mbappe], as we have reported, is keen on moving to one of two leagues for the next stage of his career," the journalist claimed.

"Either the Premier League where his preference I am told would be a move to Liverpool.

"He likes Manchester United as a club, but his preference would be to work with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United will no doubt be gutted to find out they're going to miss out on the former Monaco forward.

The Red Devils aren't going to be as annoyed at the news as Real though, "Or [he wants to move] to Spain," Castles added, "Where Barcelona are an option. But obvious financial difficulties and Real Madrid have pursued him since before he went to PSG."

Barca's financial situation almost goes without saying at this point, and with the arrests at the club yesterday it's looking like a proper shambles at the Nou Camp.

Los Blancos are also reportedly struggling financially, though nowhere like their rivals, and are hoping to offload Gareth Bale for good in the summer to help with signing Mbappe.

Of course if the forward has already decided he wants to go to Liverpool then they'd still probably want the Welshman's 30 million euros-a-year off their wage bill anyway.

With Jurgen Klopp claiming that top four would be 'big' for the Reds this season, it's definitely likely Mbappe would swerve a move to Anfield if they didn't qualify for the Champions League.

His contract ends in summer 2022, when he'd be able to leave PSG for nothing, so he doesn't need to rush a decision.
