John Terry's career might not yet be over, despite the fact he's yet to find a club after his time at ASton Villa came to an end. The former Chelsea man could still find himself in the Europa League.
There was a time at the end of last season when it looked like John Terry was going to be back in the Premier League. At the time Aston Villa were in the Championship play-offs and their defender was reportedly negotiating a new deal.
Had Steve Bruce's side beaten Fulham in the final at Wembley then the former Chelsea captain would have been back in the top tier, with his contract letting him avoid playing against the Blues.
Playing against his former club would of course never end up being an issue with Villa losing the final to their west London opponents, keeping the midlands club down in the Championship for another season.

With financial problems hitting the Villans Terry left the club but despite being 37 and without a club the former England captain is yet to announce his retirement, meaning he could find a new team.
According to A Bola, via Sport Witness, Portuguese side Sporting could offer Terry the chance to continue his playing career and become an ambassador for the club.
There is still a big question over the deal. Sporting are about to have elections for a new president and the offer is only on the table if one of the candidates, Madeira Rodrigues gets the nod.

The report says that Terry and Rodrigues have already had a meeting and the candidate would like to pair the defender up with one of his former managers at Stamford Bridge in the shape of Claudio Ranieri.
Terry would be available past the 7th of September election results day because he's a free agent.
There has been talk of the former Chelsea man taking a role as a pundit on Sky or BT whilst he also would like to go into management.

Former Chelsea teammate Frank Lampard was a pundit for BT Sports before moving into management with Derby this season whilst former England colleague Steven Gerrard went from the safe pundit job to Rangers.
Could Terry continue playing?
