Chelsea Fans Can't Believe Their Social Media Is Asking About Transfers

The Chelsea Twitter page wanted to know who fans would like the club to sign, but they were given a transfer ban last week.

Last week Chelsea were given a transfer ban that means they can't make any signings in the summer or next January. Yet they seemed to forget that on Wednesday when they asked fans who they want to see the Blues sign.

It's been an interesting time for Chelsea the last few weeks. Sure there's never been stability in the Roman Abramovich era and there's been plenty of downs to go with the amazing ups but the recent period has been more of a debacle than usual at Stamford Bridge.

There had already been criticism of manager Maurizio Sarri and his playing style before their two big losses to Bournemouth, 4-0, and Manchester City, a 6-0 hammering.

Being knocked out of the FA Cup against Manchester United came next as Sarri's paint by numbers substitutions came under fire, especially bringing on Davide Zappacosta when 2-0 down and leaving Callum Hudson-Odoi sat on the bench.

Sunday's Carabao Cup final and the incredible scenes with Kepa further added to Sarri's problems but perhaps the transfer ban is the biggest of his worries.

The Italian won't have chance to sign players to help implement his tactics and strengthen a squad that needs something extra.

However the ban hasn't stopped the club official Twitter account asking for ideas on who they should sign:

Real Madrid had a similar ban from FIFA and appealed. The appeal process allowed them to make transfers in the first window they should have been banned for, before the ban was reduced to one window.

The Blues are likely to follow suit and hope to have the summer to sign players but that doesn't stop the tweet be unbelievably badly timed.

Any delay could speed up Eden Hazard's exit from Stamford Bridge as a two window ban after the delay could see them lose him for free next year without the ability to replace the Belgian.

What's the stupidest tweet you've seen?
