Chelsea fans genuinely can't believe what Mauricio Pochettino has said ahead of their huge game against Tottenham tonight.

The Blues resume their Premier League campaign against Spurs following their victory over Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

It's not just a big occasion for the club, but also for Pochettino as he comes up against his former side.

The Argentine boss enjoyed five years at the club before he was relieved of his duties in 2019.

He developed close links with their fanbase following his spell and was asked whether he'd return to North London.

The 51-year-old, who joined the Stamford Bridge outfit in the summer, admits he is open to a shock return to Spurs.

However, he also said he hopes to stay at Chelsea 'until he dies'.

Asked about returning to the Spurs dugout, he replied: "Why not?"

He added: "Hopefully, I can stay here until I die, for 20-25 years but you never know what is going to happen tomorrow. I am 51 and thinking more about enjoying today, not looking too much into the future, but you never know.

"It’s a club for sure if I’m not working maybe and if they want me one day, why not?"

Naturally, Pochettino's comments sent social media wild as people online made their feelings clear.

One X user wrote: "Saying all this before playing Spurs. We know you love spurs but chill out."

A second tweeted: "At this point he’s just trying to upset every fanbase in London."

A third joked: ""Bro said I’m Chelsea till I die but I’d go back to Spurs."

A fourth commented: "He’s trying to please both Chelsea and Spurs fans here but in reality he’s managed to piss off both instead."

A fifth said: "Saying this the day before the game is just wow. If we lose it’s seriously hard to see how he survives until Christmas."

What's your take on Pochettino's claim? Let us know what you think.
