Barcelona had another whopping bid Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho rejected, with the offer including a huge clause.

Following the mega sale of Neymar to Paris-Saint German, Barcelona have drawn up a shortlist of potential replacements.

While the list includes the likes of Borussia Dortmund's French ace Ousmane Dembele and AS Monaco's Kylian Mbappe, among others, Liverpool's brilliant Brazilian remains their priority signing.

The Catalan's have tabled a few bids but have all been turned down. Liverpool released a statement outlining the player is not for sale which prompted him to hand in a transfer request.

Liverpool received the latest bid on Friday which saw a £118 offer rebuffed.

The Times have broken down the deal which would have seen Liverpool receive a guaranteed £82.1 million payment.

And a further £36.1 million depending on his progress at the Camp Nou which includes a add on if Coutinho won the Ballon d'Or award.

Barcelona were hoping to secure the deal for the player by implementing the Ballon d'Or clause.

But the Premier League side continue to reject their rampant pursuit as they remain firm that he isn't leaving the club in this transfer window.

Dembele has also been subject to intense speculation. Will he be a Barcelona player by the end of the window? Image: PA

The 25-year-old hasn't featured in Liverpool's first two games of the new season.

Jurgen Klopp's side opened their 2017/18 campaign with a league fixture against Watford then a Champions League qualifying match against German opposition Hoffenheim.
