A new contender has reportedly emerged in the race to sign Sporting Clube de Portugal star Viktor Gyokeres.
During the 24/25 season, Gyokeres managed 54 goals and 13 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions for Sporting.
As a result of his impressive displays, the 27-year-old has become one of the most sought-after players in the world.

According to Portuguese outlet Record, Arsenal became the first club to submit an official bid for Gyokeres, worth €60 million including add-ons, at a meeting on Wednesday.

However, it has now been claimed that a new club has joined the race to sign the Swedish international.
As reported by Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are also keeping tabs on Gyokeres.
However, it has been stated that in order for Juventus to go fully in for Gyokeres, current striker Dusan Vlahovic would have to be offloaded first.
The report said that Juventus would look to bring in around €30 million for the Serbian.

This week, Gyokeres took to social media to respond to the speculation surrounding his future.

On Instagram, he wrote: "There is a lot of talks at the moment, most of it is false. I will speak when the time is right."
Meanwhile, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has stated that there is a 'tense situation' between Gyokeres and Sporting.

He wrote on social media: "Tense situation between Viktor Gyökeres and Sporting. Despite previous pact for exit worth fee around €65m w/add-ons, Sporting president insists on higher fee.
"Price still under €100m clause but not €65m now. Gyökeres, described as furious."
This comes after reports claimed that Sporting president Frederico Varandas accused Gyokeres’ camp of ‘blackmail’ surrounding negotiations over a summer exit.
