Fans stunned after discovering how much Viktor Gyokeres is available for amid Man Utd links

Fans stunned after discovering how much Viktor Gyokeres is available for amid Man Utd links

Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres has been linked with a move to the Premier League.

Viktor Gyokeres' reported price tag has left fans stunned amid reports linking him with Manchester United.

On Tuesday night, Swedish international Gyokeres was in fine form as he scored a hat-trick to help Sporting Lisbon record a shock 4-1 victory over Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League.

Gyokeres scored in the first half to cancel out Phil Foden's opener before scoring two penalties in the second half to complete his hat-trick. Maximiliano Araujo was also on the scoresheet for Ruben Amorim's men.

Amorim is set to leave Sporting next week when he takes over at Manchester United. As a result, Gyokeres has been linked with a move to United.

The 26-year-old former Coventry man has scored 23 goals and assisted four in 17 appearances for Sporting across all competitions.

Apart from United, Gyokeres has also been linked with the likes Liverpool, City and Chelsea.

As reported by The Telegraph, the Swedish star has a release clause of £83 million but it has been suggested that Sporting have now slapped a price tag of £63 million on Gyokeres.

After the match, Amorim was asked whether he is looking to bring Gyokeres to Old Trafford.

He said: "No, no, no. I cannot be funny with that in this moment. It was tough for me to leave, if I start joking about that with Gyokeres, I’ll have problems. This is my city, this is my country, I will respect.

"Viktor has to stay until the end of the season and then his life is going, maybe, somewhere else."

When asked about about Amorim, Gyokeres himself said: "We will miss him a lot, of course.

"We achieved a lot together and we will miss him and the other members of the staff, but they are leaving and we have to move on and face the next challenge we have."

Currently, United are 13th in the Premier League table after their 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Old Trafford last weekend.

In Europe, the Red Devils are in 22nd place in the UEFA Europa League having drawn against FC Twente, FC Porto and Fenerbahce in their opening three matches.

United, led by interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, will be back in Europa League action on Thursday night when they take on PAOK.
