PSG target five Real Madrid players as 'revenge' for Kylian Mbappe approach

PSG target five Real Madrid players as 'revenge' for Kylian Mbappe approach

They have targeted five players.

Paris Saint-Germain have targeted five Real Madrid players in revenge for Los Blancos’ approach for Kylian Mbappe, a report has claimed.

Mbappe is still plying his trade at PSG this season, despite the forward having had a very public fall-out with the club amid interest from Real.

The France international looked primed to leave PSG this summer, having refused to sign a new contract with the Ligue 1 giants.

Mbappe was subsequently banished from first-team training and missed the club’s pre-season tour.

And while the summer window has now shut, with both parties publicly made up, Mbappe’s future remains uncertain with less than a year on his current deal.

Indeed, Real has long expressed an interest in the 24-year-old, and even came close to signing him back in 2022, only for the Frenchman to perform a dramatic U-turn and sign the aforementioned PSG deal.

It has been widely reported that at the centre of this summer’s feud, was that PSG were convinced Mbappe has already agreed to join Real next summer.

And in a tat-for-tat move, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is now said to be keen on signing five of Real Madrid’s ‘jewels’.

According to OkDiario via Sport, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo are PSG’s two top targets, with the latter believed to be the more realistic proposition.

Meanwhile, the French side are also said to be looking at Liverpool target Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Federico Valverde. Of course, with Marco Verratti set to sign for Qatari side Al-Arabi in a £39million move, midfield reinforcements will be welcomed in Paris.

The greatest barrier to any deal materialising, however, is said to be the enormous release clauses Real have placed on their most prized talent.

For instance, Vinicius Jr. is said to have signed a contract over the summer with a release clause thought to be in the region of £860million.

This issue would only be compounded by the fact Mbappe could leave PSG for free next summer. That would mean the Parisians would have no income from his departure to fund any transfers.
