Manchester United will submit their final offer for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund in the next 24 hours, according to reports in Italy.

Hojlund, 20, has attracted the attention of both United and Paris Saint-Germain after impressing for Atalanta last season.

The Denmark international, who has been dubbed 'the next Erling Haaland', scored 9 goals in 32 appearances in Serie A.

United submitted an opening offer for the striker earlier this week worth €60m (£51m), with €10m (£8.5m) of the fee to be paid in add-ons.

PSG also sent their own offer for the striker worth a reported €50m (£43m).

Atalanta are believed to have rejected both bids for Hojlund, who has already agreed personal terms with the two interested clubs.

United held further talks with the Italian club on Friday and are expected to return with an improved offer for the forward.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla claims United plan to submit a 'final' bid for Hojlund either on Friday or Saturday.

"#Hojlund-#ManchesterUnited contacts in progress. Confirmed: final bid between Friday and Saturday," tweeted Pedulla.

When asked how much United were planning to offer for the Denmark international, Pedulla replied: "70+5 (euro)."

If accurate, United are set to offer an initial fee of £60m for Hojlund, with around £4.2m in potential add-ons.

United are seemingly determined to avoid being dragged into a prolonged bidding war with PSG for Hojlund and could turn their attention to other targets if their offer his rejected.

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani and Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus have been touted as potential alternatives, should United failed to sign Hojlund.

Atalanta, meanwhile, are already planning for life without the Danish striker.

Football Italia report that Almeria striker El Bilal Toure landed in Italy on Friday to undergo a medical with the Italian club.

Toure arrived at Linate Airport in Milan and is set to join Atalanta for a club-record €30m (£25.6m) fee, should he pass his medical and agree personal terms.

Should Toure complete his move as expected, it would clear the path for Hojlund to join either United or PSG.
