Man Utd 'interested' in signing Premier League flop who was substituted in humiliating fashion at Old Trafford

Manchester United are looking to add new players to Ruben Amorim's squad.

Manchester United have reportedly registered their interest in signing a Premier League flop.

The 24/25 season was one to forget for the Red Devils as they finished 15th in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, their Champions League dream was shattered after losing 1-0 against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.

Looking ahead, United are expected to be active this summer as they look to provide Ruben Amorim with more quality.

Having already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampron Wanderers, the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyokeres have all been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Now, it has been claimed that a former Premier League flop has attracted United's attention.

As reported by Italian news outlet Gazzetta, the Red Devils are monitoring Fiorentina star Moise Kean.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a decent season in Serie A, having scored 19 goals and assisted three in 32 matches.

It has been suggested that Kean has a £44.5 million release clause and has also been linked with Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah.

Kean previously played in the Premier League when he joined Everton from Juventus back in 2019.

However, the Italian's first stint in the English top flight was bitterly disappointing as he struggled to produce his best football.

Most memorably, Kean was brought on in the 70th minute against United at Old Trafford by then-Everton boss Duncan Ferguson.

However, the forward was taken off again with 88 minutes on the clock.

Speaking after the match, Ferguson explained: "I just needed to make a substitution to kill a bit of time. I have a lot of attackers on the bench, it was nothing against him personally.

"I thought he had not quite got into the pace of the game. We put on a guy [Oumar Niasse] that handles it better. Nothing about Moise. I've been there, I've been subbed off but we'll pick him up, he'll come again, he's only 19."
