Man Utd set shock Jadon Sancho asking price as Saudi Pro League transfer plan revealed

Man Utd set shock Jadon Sancho asking price as Saudi Pro League transfer plan revealed

Manchester United have reportedly set their asking price for Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United have reportedly set their asking price for Jadon Sancho amid interest from Saudi Arabia.

During the summer transfer window of 2021, the Old Trafford club spent a reported £73 million to lure Sancho away from German club Borussia Dortmund.

However, the winger failed to reproduce the kind of form that he showed during his time in the Bundesliga and soon fell down the pecking order at United.

This season, Sancho had a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag, which led to the 23-year-old being exiled from the first team fold.

During the January transfer window, it was reported that United have offered Saudi Professional League clubs the chance to sign Sancho and fellow winger Antony.

However, the Englishman ended up joining his former club Dortmund on loan for the remainder of the 23/24 season.

Now, it is believed that an asking price has been set by United for Sancho.

According to Football Insider, new investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team have set a price of £40 million to £50 million for Sancho.

Despite currently playing for Dortmund, it has been reported that the Germans could find it tough to sign Sancho on a permanent deal due to the fee and also the salary that the winger demands.

Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, Dortmund Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl said: “Unfortunately, it was the case with both players that no option was really realistic. If you know what we got for Jadon Sancho two and a half years ago, then you also know that it may be very very difficult now.

“Of course, we stood up for an option with him - and also with Ian(Maatsen) - but the negotiating position was not such that we could realize it.”

With the German side seemingly out of the running to sign Sancho on a permanent deal, clubs in Saudi Arabia could come back into play.

Since re-joining Dortmund on a temporary basis, Sancho has recorded two assists in three appearances in the Bundesliga.
