A major Liverpool transfer update from a Sky Sports journalist has sent fans into full meltdown.

It has been a fantastic start to the 24/25 season for Liverpool as Arne Slot has managed to build on the foundations installed by previous boss Jurgen Klopp.

Currently, the Reds are second in the Premier League table, one point behind reigning champions Manchester City.

In Europe, Liverpool have won three out of three matches in the UEFA Champions League.

Looking ahead to the transfer window, it has been reported that Liverpool have become a ‘serious option’ for Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush.

Last week, Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg wrote: “Eintracht Frankfurt are currently demanding a transfer fee of between €50-60m for Omar Marmoush. Liverpool is indeed a serious option. The interest is real, and there has already been contact between the player’s camp and #LFC. #SGE are aware of it.

“Marmoush dreams of a move to the Premier League and would immediately agree to join Liverpool.”

On Thursday night, Plettenberg quote tweeted the original with a green tick and “#Marmoush #LFC”, which has got Liverpool fans excited.

The 25-year-old Egyptian has enjoyed a fine start to the season, scoring 11 goals and assisting seven in 13 matches across all competitions.

As a result of his impressive performance, Marmoush has been described as ‘brilliant’ by the Bundesliga website.

In addition, comparisons to Egypt superstar and Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah have already been made.

Speaking recently about Marmoush, Frankfurt boss Dino Toppmoller said: “He's responsible for producing danger up front, firing in goals and setting up others. He's very difficult to defend due to his pace and how fast he can run in deep.

“He can also sneak in from close range, take a great touch and play some great passes. He's in outstanding form at the moment, and he's feeling comfortable. That's the key to his success these days.”
