Liverpool could be set to raid Brighton for player labelled 'one of the best in the world'

Liverpool could be set to raid Brighton for player labelled 'one of the best in the world'

Liverpool have already signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.

Liverpool could be planning to raid Brighton for another player as Jurgen Klopp looks to continue his rebuild.

Liverpool already signed midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from the Seagulls in the summer window in a deal worth an initial £35m.

Klopp also tried to sign Moises Caicedo but the Ecuadorian midfielder eventually opted for a move to Chelsea instead.

It has now been claimed that the Merseyside club have set their sights on another Brighton player.

TeamTalk claim Liverpool are considering an approach for left-back Pervis Estupinan, an international teammate of Caicedo.

Estupinan, 25, has made 49 appearances for Brighton, scoring twice, since joining from Villarreal in 2022.

The former Watford left-back has impressed under the guidance of manager Roberto De Zerbi and is now being linked with a move away from south coast, with interest in the player coming from both in the Premier League and abroad.

It is claimed that Liverpool are among a group of clubs interested in Estupinan, who is currently sidelined with a muscular injury.

During a recent radio appearance (as cited by Sport Witness), Estupinan's agent Manuel Sierra discussed the growing interest in the defender and labelled him as 'one of the best left-backs in the world'.

"Pervis is a super interesting player, who several teams from the Premier [League] are keen on," Sierra said.

"Spanish football [clubs] and others have asked about his situation, because they are looking for a left-back and he is one of the best in the world in his position.

"We have to be prepared with him [for a possible transfer], we don't even know what Brighton is going to ask for, people are a little afraid of the club [due to Caicedo’s transfer and those negotiations].

"We will see in the summer how his situation is, now he is injured and will have a maximum of a month [out]."
