Liverpool ‘looking to sign’ Everton target as Mohamed Salah amid Al Ittihad links

Liverpool ‘looking to sign’ Everton target as Mohamed Salah amid Al Ittihad links

Could Mohamed Salah leave Liverpool before the transfer deadline?

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing an Everton target to replace Mohamed Salah if the Egyptian leaves the club.

Last week, it was widely reported that Saudi Professional League side Al Ittihad are seriously interested in signing Salah from Liverpool.

Despite Jurgen Klopp publicly shutting down the rumours, recent reports have claimed that Al Ittihad are getting increasingly confident in signing Salah and are preparing a bid of £118 million.

It has been reported that clubs in the Gulf state see Salah as their crown jewel ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup on home soil in December.

Saudi Professional League chief executive, Saad al Lazeez has reportedly travelled to France and will stay there for the remainder of the European transfer window in a bid to lure more stars to the Middle East.

Furthermore, it has been claimed that Klopp would be furious if the club allow Salah to leave.

Since the news of Salah being linked with Saudi Arabia emerged, Liverpool have been linked with a host of attackers who can be brought in as a replacement.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are targeting a move for PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko, who is said to be a target of Everton’s.

The report claimed that the 20-year-old is set to be one of the most in-demand players in the final days of the transfer window.

It has been reported that Burnley have already had two bids rejected for Bakayoko, with the last offer said to be worth £17.2 million.

In addition, it has been claimed that any interested party will have to pay at least £25 million to land the winger.

Speaking about Salah’s future, Reds boss Klopp said last week: “Yes (there isn't anything to talk about).

“It's difficult to talk about media stories as there's nothing to talk about from our point of view. Mo Salah is a Liverpool player. There's nothing there. If there was something the answer would be no (he's not for sale).”

He added: “My life philosophy is I think about a problem when I have it. At the moment, there's nothing. I said already if there is something, the answer would be no. Is Mo still committed? 100 per cent!”
