Saudi Pro League club 'prepares shock bid' to sign Liverpool star Luis Diaz

Saudi Pro League club 'prepares shock bid' to sign Liverpool star Luis Diaz

It's surprise news.

Liverpool's Luis Diaz is the latest Premier League star to have been linked with a big money move to Saudi Arabia.

The story of this summer's transfer window has been the spate of elite players moving from Europe to the Saudi Pro League. Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Ruben Neves have already completed moves to the Gulf country, lured by eye-wateringly huge wages.

Meanwhile, Fabinho was not part of the Liverpool squad that travelled to Germany for a pre-season training camp on Saturday, following a £40million offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad.

Moreover Reds captain Jordan Henderson could also being making a move to the Gulf state, having been the subject of interest from Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq, who are proposing to quadruple the England international's wage.

And, should reports be believed, a third Liverpool star is the target of interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Diaz to Saudi Arabia?

According to a fresh report from Portuguese publication Record, Al Hilal want Diaz and are willing to offer €50million (£42million) for the winger's services.

The club's manager Jorge Jesus is said to be an admirer of the Colombian winger, who Liverpool bought for £40million just 18 months ago.

Liverpool, however, are not thought to be interested in selling the attacker, with Diaz thought to be central to Jurgen Klopp's plans.

Since signing for the Merseyside club Diaz has claimed 11 goals and eight assists in 47 appearances, though spent a large proportion of last season out due to a knee ligament injury.

The 26-year-old's contract with the Reds runs until 2027, and he’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at £64million.
