Liverpool and Chelsea 'preparing contract offers' for Kylian Mbappe

Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly readying contract offers for Paris Saint Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Over the last few seasons, Mbappe has constantly been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes.

The Frenchman’s current deal with PSG is set to expire at the end of the 23/24 season and the expectation is that he will join Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid.

However, according to Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, via French publication Le 10 Sport, Premier League duo Liverpool and Chelsea are hoping to lure Mbappe to England.

The report claims that both the Anfield club and the Blues are ready to offer him ‘extremely important contracts’.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Mbappe in recent years but the club’s financial capabilities have often overshadowed the interest.

When quizzed about Mbappe in July, Jurgen Klopp said: “We laugh about it. I can say that I think he’s a really good player, but the financial conditions don’t suit us at all.

“I wouldn’t like to ruin the story now, but as far as I know, there’s nothing to it.”

Whilst Chelsea boss Mauricio Pohcettino was asked whether he would like to reunite with Mbappe and Neymar.

He said: “I think in our past we were at Paris Saint Germain and with Kylian and think I need to be conscious that I cannot talk.

“Everything you talk is too much noise. It is a situation that is very delicate and one they need to fix in Paris with Kylian. For our side I have nothing to say. We are working on our reality, our reality is different. From my side, nothing to say, only to supporter them.”

Pochettino added: “I hope they find a solution for both sides. It is a club that I love, because I was a player, a captain and coach. With Kylian we create a very good relationship, I hope they can find the best solution for both sides.”
