A decision has been made on Jordan Henderson's next move, according to stunning reports.

Henderson has been the subject of intense transfer speculation, with widespread reports claiming he is desperate to return to the Premier League following his move away from Liverpool.

It comes just months after signing for Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq, who are managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

Mauricio Pochettino was asked about Chelsea's chances of signing the 33-year-old after they were linked with the player.

Ajax and Juventus have since emerged as the clubs leading the race to sign Henderson on loan this month.

John van't Schip, Ajax caretaker coach, confirmed their interest, saying: "I can confirm the club and Henderson are talking. He has to deal with his club now."

But, according to The Daily Mail, the England international is set to STAY in Saudi Arabia for the rest of the season.

That's because Al Ettifaq are unlikely to consider letting him sign for another club in January.

He flew out to Abu Dhabi on Sunday to link up with his teammates for the club's two-week winter training camp.

It's believed that club officials are expected to hold talks with him about his situation and make it clear that they do not want to do business with anyone.

Henderson is thought to be angling for a move away from Al Ettifaq as his young family have found it difficult settling in the Middle East.

And he was aware of the interest from a number of clubs around Europe wanting to take him on loan for the rest of the season.

Henderson enjoyed 12 seasons at Anfield, making an incredible 492 appearances for the club before leaving last summer.

He's featured in 19 matches in all competitions for Al Ettifaq this season as a move away this month seems unlikely.
