David Ornstein claims Harry Kane will sign new Tottenham contract on one condition after Bayern's "bad move"

David Ornstein claims Harry Kane will sign new Tottenham contract on one condition after Bayern's "bad move"

It's a major update.

David Ornstein revealed Harry Kane would sign a new Tottenham Hotspur deal on one condition.

Earlier this week Sky Germany claimed Bayern Munich had made a final offer for Kane worth more than €100million (£86.2million).

However, despite the Bavarian club warning they would move onto other targets if they did not receive a quick response from Spurs, Bayern are understood to still be waiting to hear from the Tottenham hierarchy.

Indeed, Kane was named as captain for Tottenham in their pre-season friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday, and went on to score four goals.

And Ornstein has claimed the England captain could still stay at Tottenham and sign a new contract.

Ornstein on Kane

Athletic football writer Ornstein claimed Kane would sign a new deal on one condition.

Speaking to ViaPlay Football, the transfer guru said: “As we speak Harry Kane is starting Tottenham’s final pre-season friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk and he’s captain.

“He’s run out, he’s clapped the fans, and so I think if Harry Kane does not have a transfer agreed between Tottenham and Bayern Munich, or any other club, then he’ll be happy to stay.

“He’ll play, he’ll score goals he may even renew his contract if Tottenham show him the ambition that they’re competitive under Ange Postecoglou.

“Can they get back into the Champions League and win trophies because Harry Kane has always wanted to win with Tottenham. Right now there is no agreement in place.

"Bayern Munich keep bidding. Daniel Levy is not responding. He doesn't like to be given ultimatums or a deadlines. That was a bad move by Bayern Munich.

"But when this all calms down in the coming days will they keep pushing, and what will Daniel Levy say? We do not know.

"Harry Kane if he starts the Premier League season with Tottenham, his preference is not to leave.

"But you never know in football if the money goes higher it often talks and with just 12 months left on his contract it is a massive gamble by Daniel Levy to keep saying no because he could lose him for free in the summer of 2024.

"The only club he wants to join this summer if he is to leave is Bayern Munich."
