Chelsea's Mauricio Pochettino could sell four players before pre-season tour

Chelsea's Mauricio Pochettino could sell four players before pre-season tour

The report comes after four Blues were told not to report to training for Stateside games.

Chelsea head honcho Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants to ‘sell off’ up to four more Chelsea players this weekend before preseason begins.

The Blues have already seen a wave of high-profile players departing from the West London club this summer. The biggest of course was Mason Mount’s initial £55 million move to Manchester United.

Elsewhere, German international Kai Havertz was signed by Arsenal in June for a reported £65m, while Captain America, Christian Pulisic, has recently joined AC Milan on a four-year deal.

The likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Abdul-Rahman Baba, and N’Golo Kante have all left the club on a free transfer, while Manchester City completed the signing of midfielder Mateo Kovacic last month, too.

In May it was reported that Pochettino wanted to sell 15-first team players this summer. And, earlier this week, it was stated that Chelsea bosses let three players know that they wouldn’t need to train ahead of the preseason tour.

As per the Evening Standard, Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were allegedly told not to train this week.

The report states that Chelsea told the trio to report to training on Monday instead, and are unlikely to join The Blues on their Stateside pre-season tour later this month.

Elsewhere, the publication states that Pochettino’s team ‘remain in talks’ with Inter Milan regarding Lukaku’s transfer.

However, it’s been reported that the Italian team have actually now pulled out of the race to sign the 30-year-old.

Ziyech could also be on the way out, despite allegedly failing a medical at Saudi Pro League side, Al Nassr, last month.

Furthermore, according to respected Twitter user, Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is, “still insisting to sell Pierre Aubameyang to Saudi clubs,”

Earlier this week he tweeted that the club were, “trying to make it happen; talks are not advanced to final stages yet. Main issue for European clubs interested remains his huge salary, as of now.”

The fourth player that Pochettino is allegedly hoping to offload is winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

After returning from a frustrating loan period with Bayer Leverkusen, the 22-year-old is reportedly exploring an exit from his boyhood club.

Sources apparently confirmed to 90min that, “contact has been made with teams from all across the globe,” and that the likes of Everton, Fulham and Nottingham Forest are interested.
